Thanks for the reminder about the true nature of the holiday. I try not to apply the spirit of Thanksgiving to the whole concept of "pilgrims getting buddy-buddy with natives", but more as a way of being thankful for what we have, what we've achieved, and who we can celebrate it with. But remembering the true foundation of a holiday is a way to remind oneself to think of the people who are less fortunate, who suffer in the face of our success, and try to help them.

I guess I should be thankful for your presence, connecting me to that part of our past.
