Andromeda was declared love for.. Tonks, was it? Disownment is such a messy process too.
I do not know what we could do to prevent this short of killing mother (not an idea that Im against, mind you) but I will give it some thought.

I wish I could say I was pulling jokes, but alas I am not. She declared it publicly just a few short days ago for the mudblood by th name of Ted Tonks. Being in their company can be always be taken as a 'mistake' but declaring feelings for one can only be taken as it is put out there.

And I am also all for killing mother, however disownment is less messy.
