I've gotten together with a group of people who are doing zombie preparedness research for a real world application. A lot of these ideas are excellent but they can be improved upon. For instance, what the hell is "bowling ball"? or "with your bare hands"? Being that zombies are a bio-hazard your bare hands is a bad bad idea. also a leatherman or similar utility tool is much better than a swiss army knife.
These rules are generally devoid of context, so you're right there.
Of course, when applied in the context of the movie, I'm sure it would make more sense. For example (and I'm forgetting the movie, so I'm just speaking off-the-cuff), if we launch bowling balls in a catapult... good thing. And with respect to bare hands... you don't want to be stuck in situations where you need manual dexterity and you're all bollocksed up in leather gloves...
