I must, as usual, it seems, agree with you. Castiel seemed so very *lost*, as if his taking away of his own purpose had left him without any anchor at all. And i totally understand him wanting to not engage, not revisit all the past conflict and hurt and betrayal and guilt
( ... )
I too find the place Dean and Castiel's relationship is at right now to be very sad, but I'm also glad the writers are not taking the easy out with the insta-fix. The damage done was very real, and it will take time for it to be repaired. Dean has a lot of mixed feelings to work through, and Castiel has a lot of shame to work through, and it's definitely something that will take time to rebuild. Season 8, baby! (My projected hope, lol!)
I really hope Kevin doesn't die -- that poor kid was freaking out but did his best to suck it up and deal -- and HELP. We could almost nominate him a temporary honorary member of Team Free Will considering his situation and response to it.
Such an easy word to say. Not so easy to actually face. That requires looking in the mirror. It's far easier to look at the bees. Less complicated. Facing a true sorry means facing up to conflict, with all the complications that come with it.
Thanks! Castiel is running from conflict right now, and until he can stand up and face his own demons, he's going to stay lost in a way that he doesn't even realize, I think.
