No wonder iTunes wasn't recognizing any of the albums I put on... I had had the firewall block it from accessing the internet. And I thought I was just listening to especially obscure music.

I rode my bike to Wild Oats for some groceries a little while ago. You know it's far too hot outside when even the wind isn't the slightest bit cool.
EDIT: If ( Read more... )

Yeah, Nebraska weather is such a bitch.
I had no idea when I moved here that it was going to be so crazy.
Today I wore a skirt because it wasn't so windy as yesterday. When I went to dinner the air was calm, when I got out of the car ten minutes later the wind blew my skirt up. Haha. Good thing I brought a hoodie. I had to tie it around my waist.

I think she's of the kin of feminists who believe feminism is about raising the level of status and respect women receive in the world... and regard stripping as countering that effort.

And I agree with that.

Women don't/won't achieve equal rights by taking off their clothes if they're expected to... just as african-americans didn't receive equal rights by breaking into cars and stealing car stereos.

White people break into just as many cars. Unless you're in a black neighborhood, in which case black people are not only the theives but the wifes, grocery store clerks and preists.

Feminism is the freedom and right of being able to do anything you want without being restricted by your sex. If women weren't allowed to strip I bet there'd be a whole lot of naked feminists.

Exactly - if a woman wants to be able to strip, she should be able to do so freely and not feel like she is doing something bad. What I don't want is for her to have to do something she is unhappy doing and feel as if there are no other options.

It was a negative stereotype.

Why is it that some women thing their only advantage over men is their sexuality? Is that really the only thing they think they can do/are better than men at? Being sexual? Of course not, but a lot of them seem to really enforce that idea. Women have so much more they have over men, but rarely any of them try to emphesize those abilities, because using their sexuality seems to be the easiest and most profitable ( ... )

...I never said that women's only advantage over men is sexuality, nor did I even say that sexuality was an advantage women hold over men.

Can we stop talking about this? It's accomplishing nothing except getting both of us worked up.

Should you tip at a buffet? Because... nobody's taking your orders or serving you, you're serving yourself... o.O

And nobody tips at fast food places...

You know, I've never really liked the idea of tipping... they should just include it in the price of the meal and pay people real wages or something... and then if there is bad service you can complain and that server will get in trouble, or you can eat somewhere else or something... I dunno, I just don't like having to think about it because I never really know how much to tip... and before I had a job, I would often have just enough monies to pay for the food so I couldn't really do much for tips... *le sigh* I just find it frustrating... though I guess I am primarily speaking of food-stuffs, rather than boobies-stuffs as I have never actually been to such an establishment. *nods*

Generally for a restaurant, a tip is 15% for good service, 20% for excellent service.
The thing with the boobie places is they don't give the girls an actual wage, so if you don't 'tip' then you're essentially not paying.

That's crazy! It would suck to work somewhere where they don't actually pay you... I don't think that I would ever want to have to rely on people not being assholes to earn my living...
