Ooh, you were home schooled? I'm actually doing a term paper on Home Schooling for Comp class. I'm a Freshman in college. Would you say that your home school experience was good or bad. Why? Sorry for being nosy, lol, if you dont want to answer thats cool, :) I a;ready did the paper, so I'm just curious.
Also, there is nothing wrng with community college. The only reason I didnt end up at my local community was that I chanced upon some great financial aid at a private school. It doesnt make you even the least bit stupid. My friend Dan graduated #1 in our class and went on to North Shore Community College, here in MA. Its all about where you are in life, ya know? Ok, sorry for rambling, just lettign you knwo I'm on your side, lol. :)
Well there's something that doesn't have an easy answer. . .
I think I'm going to make a mental note and come back to this answer. But I promise I will answer. I just have the feeling that it will take several comments as I constantly add to what I already said. It just takes some thought to figure out how to say what I want to.
For one thing, homeschooling was definitely a good thing for me socially. I rarely had any friends when I was in school for eight years, and I loved the opportunity to do my schoolwork without being labeled a nerd. While I did spend time with assorted other people my age over the years, through Girl Scouts and homeschool groups, there weren't many people that I clicked with. I developed an extremely strong personality over the years. Now I'm not easily swayed by the influence of other people and I'm constantly being told that I act differently from other people; it's even been pointed out to me that I'm unaffected by the people around me, making me more individualistic. Of course, I'm also very stubborn and easily irritate people with certain personalities, but I'm quite proud of my ability to forget what other people think most of the time.
