sometimes, when you see that "so and so is inviting you to be a fan of them" it's the admin of the fan page actually sending out those invites. i know, i run the Jeri Smith Ready and Maggie Stiefvater ones. facebook needs to let us invite people as ourselves!

Some of them invite people to become fans 'cause they've hit the maximum # of friends they can have on FB.
