Cherie has served the song meme back to me with--ecccch-- happy music.

No, actually I have quite a lot of songs that make me bang my head like Dana Carvey in the opening credits of Wayne's World.

Forthwith:
  1. Bottle of Smoke - The Pogues. The most upbeat song about getting drunk at a racetrack and winning a bunch of money used to get even more ( Read more... )

I sang Blister in the Sun on the stage of the Virginia Opera. Of course, the opera house was empty at the time and the only people in there were myself, a young punk kid, and some girl with a funky Cherokee bracelet. But the point is, I sang Blister in the Sun on the stage of the Virginia Opera, lol.

*stands up and cheers for Re: Your Brains*

Lots of these are very awesome, but YAY ZOMBIES. My list would probably have more than a few bits of Coulton or other incredibly geeky things on it. Also slightly more sensible yay for I Fought the Law!

Nice list! I already mentioned the Divine Comedy's "The pop singer's fear of the pollen count" and The Tiger Lillies' "Hell" on Cheri's blog so to contribute something fresh--and zombie related!--I dig me some Misfits, especially Astro Zombies. I also get all P5 happy-sad about "this cover of "What a Wonderful World."

And your mention of Joey Ramone cover of "What a Wonderful World" reminded me of its emotional opposite, Tom Waits' cover of The Ramones' "Dannys Says"". Especially as a eulogy for the boys it carries a serious sorrow, way more fitted for the last post than this one. Sorry!
