you can get the 3 and 3A from opposite the railway station - there's a 3 from the station at 0900 [arrive Swad bus station 0945], and the 3A you mentioned above departs the station at 0910 [arrive Swad bus station 0955]. the 3 and 3A are a bit of a long way round though [via Winshill and various obscure bits of Newhall]. quicker alternatives if you do go down to New Street are an X2 at 0920 [Swad 0940] or an 8 at 0930 [Swad 0945]. plenty of choice for you.
