The interaction between Jack and Ianto, sitting on the stairs, is everything I wanted to see on the show but didn't - comfortable intimacy, tenderness, the two of them fitting so perfectly and naturally.
It must be so strange for Ianto to be back in the past, but he's not letting it overwhelm him. He has a mission to accomplish so that chaos can be prevented. After that, the future will be completely unknown but right now, he has limited time in which to kill Bilis Manger, so he has to get it right. Ianto is always at his best when he has a definite course of action to take and can plan and then act.
