Internet access has been limited - sorry for lack of emails and comments. Internet at home fell over at the weekend, not that it was particularly reliable to begin with! And I've actually been working at work, so...! Normal service will return asap ( Read more... )

Georgeous photos! And proof, if ever was needed, that LARPers really do have the best costumes :P

Your dress (in the outing pics), so very pretty! I wanted to find something like that for this weekend, but alas :( And that photo of rhube is lovely :)

It was quite possibly the best fancy dress party I'd been to. Every single costume looked awesome!

The dress was a charity shop bargain at £3. I wondered if I'd ever wear it, and then this weekend seemed ideal :-) It's a shame the picture doesn't show the whole thing.

I am suitably jealous on both counts :P

I've trawled the charity shops in York after a suitable dress for the wedding this weekend and can find nothing to wear :( Ordinary shops are a dead loss as well. And the market doesn't appear to have the stall on where I got my lovely boho skirt from a while back. Oh, for a summer dress that I can wear! :P

I'm telling you, next time have a John Simm theme. Then people can come as anything from anything John Simm's been in - I imagine most people would go for Life on Mars/Dr Who but I think some people would be cleverer.

Let's see.

Life on Mars
Dr Who
Elling
The Lakes
Never Never
24 Hr Party People
Sex Traffic (I think it was called that, I haven't seen it!)

Apart from the first three, there's not a lot of options for actual fancy dress. And I'm not sure people will have seen as many of these as I have, which is a shame as some are most excellent.

One idea we discussed on Sunday was a general 'sci-fi and fantasy authors' themed party, thus widening the character choice. :-)

terry pratchett on his own would provide a myriad of options :-)

I'm prefer not Terry Pratchett, personally, but general SF&F authors would rock.

I meant to say on Sunday, i love your dress that you wore sunday, it really suits you and its perdy.

I was trying to be Helena when she went evil at the end, but it might as well have been the queen of the dark as i didnt quite look 15 and she looks the same as helena.

Thank you!

Oops! I really wasn't sure, and I didn't have time to sit and check the DVD. Works for both, though, I think :-)
