Ohhhh ... way to kill me with the longing and the angst and the 'ancient flame'! *Ohhhh*. Hurts, but in the best way.
In no particular order: [Illegitimi non carborundum] ‘Law degree not withstanding, Sam, I have no clue what you just said.’ Hee! *Excellent* Josh voice, man. And awwww, I love Sam putting Josh to sleep with Latin. :)
[Amicus humani generic] Love, love, love this! He grinned teasingly, arms wide. ‘Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me.’ I love you especially for making Sam seem a little Jed like here: wide-eyed, playful, but also Jed like and having of an enormous amount of heart. *Perfect* Sam.
[Insanabile cacoethes scribendi] quixotic adolescent - *yes* I can see Toby thinking just that. At first anyway. ;)
Toby glowered and Josh, miraculously, backed down and left. Yes, test not the wrath of the Toby, Joshua!
From then, it was always ‘we’. Ohhhhh, *sigh*
[Si vis amari, ama] If he did nothing else, this would go exactly like all the other times. Sam would say goodnight with that same regretful

'way to kill me with the longing and the angst' I don't know what's up with me lately, I'm all about the angst. Yet when I try and write a *long* fic it all comes out fluffy...
'making Sam seem a little Jed like here: wide-eyed, playful, but also Jed like and having of an enormous amount of heart' There's definite parallels there. I kinda see Josh and Sam as like Leo and Jed. Josh is the real politician in the making deals sense, but Sam is the one who should win elections. He's got that desperate Jed-like 'we should be doing better' thing going for him.
'adore this idea - that they know, but don't do anything about it' See what I mean about the angst?! (Though I did write that one happy... I'm just not good at unhappy endings!)
Wonderful choices in latin sayings and excellent drabbles I especially loved Si vis amari, ama. So melancholic and then: He leant in towards Sam, and wrote them a new ending Thanks!
Aww...you liked the Sam/Toby, thanks! You did know it was Sam/Toby, right? It's just that it's not a well-loved pairing. Except by me... Glad you liked the melancholy, I kinda think that fits what any Sam/Toby relationship would have to be right now. Thanks for feedback!
