"Flash, don't heckle the supervillain!"

So, I was gonna write this whole melodramatic post about death-thoughts, and then my little brother came off worse with a leisure centre floor in PE. Stitches and teeth-reattachment later, I decided to aim for upbeat instead. (He's playing his shiny new Mario Kart Wii beside me, and still looking like he's gone 10 rounds, but better ( Read more... )

What's one thing you hate, and one thing you love about religion :)

Ohh... see you and the difficult questions. You have to bear in mind that I'm mostly talking about the churches where I am, okay. And that I totally respect the fact that you're religious. 'Kay ( ... )

That it's okay if life sucks now, because rewards come later. I think you should do the right things when you're alive, after thinking for yourself what the right thing is, and be happy or miserable in the here and now.

I have to agree with you, and I know there are other Christians who feel as I do, though many others are of the "do good because you'll have a reward later" camp. I really dislike the kind of preaching that says we should do certain things because God will reward us with eternal life in heaven or prosperity on earth. That seems to me to be besides the point -- we should do good things because they're good, because God wants us to BE good to our friends and our enemies ( ... )

:) See, I do know that there are plenty of sensible Christians who believe that, and I kind of knew that you did - I've just heard too many people try and argue the other side of that. But yes, you're right, I'm not trying to say there's anything wrong in giving people the comfort that someone's watching out for them.

Btw, I love your toon!Robin icon. I didn't even know you were a fan!
*g* I am a big Justice League fan (though I'm still catching up on some episodes I missed here and there). I spent a lot of my revision breaks during finals watching it! I like Teen Titans as well, but I don't know that I've ever seen B:TAS or the earlier stuff. So I still have a lot of Timmverse catching up to do! (Have you seen New Frontier?)

I *would* pout, that's quite right. :)

And I still quite want to cuddle the wee brother. Were that not quite invasive from a person he's never met.

apocalyptothon is pulling me every which way. I'm not sure I can pick five of those fandoms that I actually *want* to write. And with the muses as they are. Still. It might do what it did last year, i.e. inspire us all to splurge out on TWW end of days ideas. *g ( ... )

See, I know I could pick five fandoms, but I couldn't guarantee I'd still want to write them when I saw the request. I just love apocalypse-type-stuff so much....

What quality do you come to value in a friend?
That one's trickier than it should be. Different things in different people. Being hard to drive away is up there. Someone I feel comfortable enough to relax around. Loving me back for who I am, not who they want me to be. All the regular stuff :)

Fantasies. Are they of a different form (in whatever way) when they're about men as opposed to when they're about women?
Hmm... it's never as raw when it's about women. If I'm writing porn-in-my-head (as distinct from something that's actually to be read ever), the nasty stuff never has women in it. And I don't know if that's because 'I' am the woman, or because my feminist-reading of fantasy stops me, but it's there. The femslash stuff is always sweet, and a little sad, the slash stuff tends to be angrier, or darker, or more rooted in the heavy hurt before the comfort. I think it's ( ... )

The more I hear about Dollhouse the more I think it actually might be pretty damn good.

I was so very, very tempted to join up for the apocalyptothon because some of them sound absolutely amazing, but it would be so easy to get sucked in and never see daylight again!

I am psyched about Dollhouse, but it is still on Fox, after all, so I should possibly keep said excitement on simmer. I'm just such a Joss fangirl :)

apocalyptothon looks great, and I love apocalyptic fiction, but it's so hard to construct something new and different, and to have to do that to a deadline and a request... Yeah, sucked in and never seen again!

Lol. I have been so obsessed with Justice League this past month. I didn't even know it existed before! And I'm kind of really excited for The Princess and the Frog. I heard about it forever ago and have been known to randomly wonder what happened to the project.

Fandom question: How can I get you to write this I'd give House a case in S4 that would require his best surgeon/intensivist, so that I actually get to see Chase. Possibly an alcoholic mommy with a sick kid, so we get more backstory and House pushing too far and then having to pull back. as a fic since I have very little hope of ever seeing it onscreen?

*g* Justice League is awesome. (Try New Frontier if you haven't seen it. Entirely different continuity, but amazing.) My brother is a big animation fan, so he's been psyched for The Princess and the Frog since he knew it existed. Wall-E too, for we are also big Pixar fans. But I do have a real affection for old school Disney animation. :)

How can I get you to write this ... as a fic since I have very little hope of ever seeing it onscreen?
.... do the medical research for me? House is so difficult to write! And that's before the voice problems. But I do miss Chase, and I've been immersed in House/Chase fanfic for days now, after pretty much two years gone. Hmm... if I say I'll try it? You want House/Chase or gen? I might have to wait a bit until I catch up more with the US so I know what's going on with the new team. You're an enabler, you know that? ;)

I totally want to see New Frontier, but I'm kind of wary about Jeremy Sisto being the voice of Batman instead of Kevin Conroy who I adore. Did you know there's something called Batman: Gotham Knight coming out in July? It's supposed to be a series of shorts set between the new Batman movies. I'm so pleased!

I really would. And I don't even care whether it's House/Chase or gen, I just want some kind of House/Chase interaction! Any good House/Chase to rec me what with your recent immersion?

It has been said ;)

I was kind of worried about the changed voices too. It's definitely different (the Superman voice I think is most noticeably changed though), but I'm just shrugging and accepting it as different continuity. Mostly because it also gives me Neil Patrick Harris doing Flash, David Boreanaz as Green Lantern, and Lucy Lawless as Wonder Woman. I'm a fangirl, I'm easy pleased! Plus, I love the original comic so much that to see it onscreen was great.

So say we all...

Well, other than deciding that some of my own stuff shows up that I was an angsty teenager when I wrote it (!), a few things. Stuff saved on del.icio.us. Plus Marathon, which also has a sequel, but it's locked on the author's LJ. Pah.
