I'm beginning to suspect Grissom is the reason I prefer CSI:NY...

I only get freeview, so I'm watching a lot of Channel 5 - The Mentalist, Numb3rs, NCIS and the CSIs. I still can't watch Miami, but I like New York. Original CSI I have issues with sometimes. Tonight's episodes:

GIL GRISSOM: This guy fell to his death wearing prescription eyeglasses. Jumpers take their glasses off. Suicide is the ultimate form of ( Read more... )

Yeah, I had that exact same reaction to that first episode. I swear it does get more sensitive (and, rather bizarrely, instead of Nick or Catherine which would make more sense characterisation-wise in my mind, Grissom is usually the mouthpiece for these things, talking wee!Greg down from his occasional bigotry) as time wears on, well, on some issues anyway. But the early ones sometimes produce the inevitable eyeroll and keymash. Though yeah, S5. Thank you, CSI, for undermining my point and faith in you. Sigh. (Basically, it's patchy. But still doesn't have Horatio in it, so it could be worse. Watched the ep of Entourage with the Mayor and the transsexual the other night and wondered afterwards how I managed to keep my cool quite so well. How so fail-y, tevee?)

These had better not be genuine rehearsals for the GenElec because I just really don't have the wherewithal to move to Norway at this point in my life.

See, they had mostly been showing mid-series episodes, so this one sort of blindsided me. He's all about the weird and wonderful variety of humanity (that he holds himself apart from) and then this? Or before this, I suppose, but it threw me.

Is it so much to ask that TV not send us into apoplectic rage? She says, shortly after Nick Griffin was talking on BBC...

Yeah, I don't even know where we could go that's safe anymore. *sighs*

More porn, is all I can say. Or, rather, bed, work, comments, porn. Rinse repeat. :(

i never really did like grissom. it's as though the writers watched one too many episodes of star trek before they worked on that character. the cool reasonable logic can get a bit tiring.

people do have this habit of using them to 'punish' the national government without voting that way in a general election

And punishing the rest of Europe in the same move...

*sigh*

I wish our politicians made more of an effort to show how important Europe is. I'm getting annoyed now; it's not like they're wasting time in Europe; they're making decisions that will affect everyone's lives, and that individual countries will have to follow... Just because we don't see them doing it doesn't mean it's not happening.

::glares at politicians everywhere::

As for Grissom... I'm not a big fan of CSI in the first place, but yes, this first quote is beyond sad.

I can't even begin to comprehend how we've ended up voting this way!!! One problem is so few people voted this time.
