What a wonderful fic. At first i was disappointed that Rymon were not an established couple, but you choose the right path with references to their past moments together.
"They’re best friends, they’ve spent a number of profitable hours screwing each other’s brains out, but they’re almost never entirely honest with each other. If they were honest, they would have to be serious, and neither of them is sure where that would lead".
I loved this observation. It really captures their relationship and fear of admitting what they really want. I can imagine they spent many years trapped like this.
Also enjoyed Simon being the more casual and less hung up of the two regarding his sexuality. Ryan gaining more confidence towards the end was a nice touch because i think he does draw confidence from Simon's attention and the impact he can have on him.
:) I didn't want to start the fic with them together, because I really didn't want to write Ryan coming out 'for' Simon, or them coming out together. Think that would have swayed it even farther from the issues, and I was already wavering on that one!
And Simon got into the fic much deeper than I was planning anyway ;) I'm glad the difference between his and Ryan's attitudes to their sexuality came across okay, because I was fighting with those parts for a while.
Ooh, I like this. My knowledge of AI fandom is strictly limited to the show, but it's always been fic that I've glanced at and told myself not to get involved, for 'this way madness lies'. I still ignore myself occasionally, and I'm glad I did this time.
*g* My knowledge of the fandom is still mostly limited to the show (and stalking Ryan on Twitter!), but they're just so much fun to write. And the feedback's nice too ;) Thank you.
Fantastic fucking story. I didn't see it was for lgbt_fest at first and I was like "this would be a great lgbt_fest fic. I'm just... I'd blame the hangover, but... that would be lying.
Really, really loved. Especially the deleted scene.
*g* If it hadn't been for lgbtfest, I suspect it would have wandered into pairing fluffiness much earlier. Which is why I need challenges to make me write serious fic sometimes!
I'm really glad you enjoyed, and thanks for letting me know you liked the deleted scene too!
I'm still having problems with RPS myself sometimes, but I' m getting past it. This was my first attempt at long RPS though, so I'm really glad people seem to like it!

I kind of especially love Ryan's twitter posts and his continuing obsession with Twilight ;)
