My computer is (still) broken. Because Dell have realised that the way to keep getting money out of people is to make power supplies that expire after eight months

*g* Brother 1 is stupendously unexcited about his birthday (a week later). He really doesn't want to be 21. I don't want to be 23 either, but I guess it's not much different than 22.
But mostly, yeah, just nice to be home. Though I am already sad about leaving. I'm not really an 'in the moment' person...
*tries to blot out the very concept of turning 27* This would be where G. (turning 37 in May) usually tells me that I'm not actually an old person just yet but ... yes. :)
*hugsyou* I know. It's ... like there's a little clock ticking in my head, in that kind of situation. Not a fan.
It's just another year where I haven't really done anything, you know. As I explained to my Dad today, it's like a perpetual holding pattern, and I'd like to be a real grown up soon please. Preferably with a career that let me come home whenever I felt like it :)
:( This is the second laptop power supply I've had to buy in one year. Making it the third for this laptop, which is only a few years old itself. What happened to durability?
:D Gossip Girl Chuck/Dan? Pretty please with sugar on top? We're on 2.03 or something now, and they've taken up residence in my head. Something snarky but sweet? (I'm probably not above begging)

What is it about power supplies that makes them break at the slightest provocation? They always seem to be the first things to go, and I need them to make the laptop work!
The quote on the lyric is from a Stephen Sondheim song in the musical Merrily We Roll Along, and it's one of my favourites. I'm on the wrong computer to do it now, but I'll see if I can send you it if you want. The lyrics are here. I love Mary's bit - it does get more optimistic than the bits I've quoted though. Or... it's more, life sucks sometimes, the bad things happen, but we get through them, and it's better to know. I may not explaining that very well, but I love it, it's on my playlist of angry songs to get through the bad days.

Yes, I'm excited, what of it? It's easier to get excited about other people's birthdays. *g*
And there will be stuff, on LJ anyway, on the day. Parcel planning is slightly more erratic ...
But mostly yay for (family!)home. <3

But ugh on the technology difficulties (it is irritating when it decides to do such things)
