Strange nature day

When I arrived home after work, the crows in the tall pines were going crazy, flying madly back and forth and screaming. Eventually a slightly larger crow flew to another large tree, carrying either a mouse or a baby bird. The baby crows are fledging right now -- and the adults are insanely loud and protective. I haven't seen them this bad in years. At my place it's like being stuck in a remake of Hitchcock's The Birds. It also doesn't help that Skeet spends the night at the window howling at them. Between the cawing and the siamese caterwalling I'm ready to have them all debarked.
