I love mustard greens, too, with a little soy sauce and roasted sesame paste. I love green vegetables too, although my favourite green is romaine lettuce. Vegetables I don't like are parsnips, turnips, and kohlrabi. I'm kind of meh about squash and sweet potato but that's because they give me starch reactions.
What's the MacBook? Google's business strategy also eludes me. What have they done now?
I've never tried it with sesame paste before. I don't think I've ever used sesame paste before. I like it sauteed or boiled with fresh sliced ginger! Hmm...I like romaine lettuce but I don't think it makes the top of my list. I actually like parsnip chips and I've had the best turnips in Scotland. I've had great turnip cake too. Otherwise, I'm not the hugest fan of those or radish. I don't like potatoes all that much either. I know what a kohlrabi looks like but I don't think I've tried it. Meh about squash and sweet potato? All squashes?? Or just some? I can understand about the sweet potato - I've only recently started to like it but it's really sweet. I prefer yams. I don't like bitter melon. Yuck
( ... )
The sesame paste I was thinking of is a black sesame paste mixed with tamari. My friend Tak likes to serve it with buckwheat soba, and it's very tasty!
Kohlrabi is the strangest vegetable I've ever eaten. It has a very strong, distinctive taste, and no matter how long you steam it, it never seems to stop being hard and crunchy. And it's just ... *shudder*
Oh, that MacBook! *feels sheepish* I thought you were talking about something new and unorthodox. I can never remember the foolish names they give these things. Every couple of years, there's a new one, and if not, I end up forgetting anyway because I'm so conditioned to thinking there will be. I'm not that familiar with Silicon Valley mindsets, but telling the Amoco bosses something about oil must've been the adventure of a lifetime.
Yeah, that Amoco thing didn't go so well. It wasn't terrible but I got nervous and I "um" a lot and we were out of time and I didn't get into downsides. Well, I can't let it get me down. I have a bunch of other stuff to do.
Oh, I just thought of you today because obviously, you work with editors and submit your work for publication and all that, right? What do you think of an author that has you read his 115 page article though he has already accepted an offer to publish in another journal? Yeah - loaded question I know. But when we asked him why he didn't withdraw his article, he says he normally doesn't do that.
I'm going to proliferate all types of vegetables that children hate (except for me apparently) through a virtual interface. *laughs evilly* I like to sautee them with ginger but Phae's suggestions sounds interesting.
hi *waves* it's me again! so I was wondering if I could add you since you seem to be a fan of both Mona AND Boyd, which I am too (in fact they're my two favorite models). A few years ago, I wrote a first draft of a novel in which I used the two of them as my main characters (well, their physical selves I should say haha). I am still "working" on that novel, in so much as I think about it a lot and continuously put it off for both legit and illegit reasons (job and laziness respectively lol). Anyway! when you began using Mona as Astoria and me, knowing that the HP canon dictates that she and Draco end up together I was ecstatic! lol so here's hoping for an ad! *crosses fingers*
on another note, I see you are a fan of fingerless gloves and leg warmers, which I quite like myself. :D
Hello! Okay - scary, but I am wearing leg warmers and have been working on a Draco / Astoria fic. Haha, Mona and Boyd are my favorites too - but I don't really follow models as much as I follow fashion. And even then, I don't have much time to follow that. Also, when it gets cold, I just end up layering up on anything I have
( ... )
that is totally understandable and respectable! :) And don't worry, the empty LJ thing makes me wary as well. A couple people have added me, not commented on the friends only post, and don't have anything listed as their interests or anything written in their LJs. That kind of stuff just makes me go o.O wut? why are you adding me? *runs and hides* haha
I am not actually a writer of D/A fic! Don't pelt me with rocks buuuuut I have not actually read the Harry Potter series XD I have seen the movies and oddly enough my mom has read all of them and talked about them with me (filling me in on the missing stuff, etc) so I usually can carry on a pretty good conversation about the books even though I never got past the first chapter of the first book. Still, when _____faith first got the idea (from you through fallenwitch I think?) to use Mona as Astoria I was really excited, but like you said, she hasn't written much...maybe we should tagteam her! haha
( ... )
Actually I think you're lucky to have escaped the Harry Potter series! Stupid series! They suck you in and even when you *know* it's going downhill, you can't stop, you even buy the last book at full price!
I stopped watching TV on a regular basis about 7 years ago but because people tell me about "their shows," I can carry on a pretty good conversation on Grey's Anatomy and select reality shows. Haha. Of course, I've seen all of the Sex and the City DVDs so really I'm well verse in what really matters. *g*
Oh my, I love socks. I liked the toeless ones they've come up with. I've been meaning to do a fashion post...hmm, I think I will do one soon. I've acquired quite a bit...

Yes, the moment I saw Mona, I thought she was perfect for Astoria. Especially in the Nina Ricci ad. I did a post here: http://black-alnair.livejournal.com/14750.html. Oooh, maybe we can tagteam _____faith on manips too!
