Title: "Angels In Chains"
Pairing: DBSK: YunJae (mention), YooSu, SoulMates (of the Bro!Fest variety), (Potentially More Characters To Come)
Writer: black_prophet (Midsummer_Slave)
Genre: SciFi Fantasy AU (Fluff, Angst/Drama, Etc)
Rating: PG13 (To get worse as it goes on, I'm sure)
Warning: This is an AU, somewhat futuristic with SciFi and Fantasy themes/elements. Mentions of torture (perhaps graphic in nature) may be scattered throughout this story. This is basically what happens 'before' Playing God, mostly concerning Jaejoong. For now I am labeling it a mini-series, it may make it to multi-ch, I have no notion. Warning: Progress? As slow as molasses in winter... but it may wind up covering a LOT about Jae, so it should be fun.
A/N: This fic is for
thesilveramazon because she is THE most dedicated fan to this 'verse I have found... And you guys don't even want to know what she's done to prove herself, but let's just say she's IT. Silv, thanks for being ACU's number one fangirl, Feeder of the Crack!Verse, and co-conspirator in literary homicide. It's always fun with you.
Disclaimer: THIS IS A FANFICTION, as in I do not own the Main Characters. All Technicians, Doctors, and most Executives/Billionaires/Random Assholes are created and named by me. I cannot say (as I am not a Doctor and have not examined the bloodwork/ lineage etc of these men) that DBSK is 100% descended from Angels. I can tell you that it is no damn wonder we call them the Rising Gods of the East. I can also tell you I doubt Angels look/sing/dance better than these guys. I will also express my opinion their bodies are most likely from Heaven, Jaejoong is a FallenAngel in my eyes, etc. I can't even prove Angels exist. This is just for entertainment purposes.

Jaejoong gnashed his teeth, eyes narrowed as he circled his new holding cell with all the grace of a tiger probing his cage for an escape route. There was no getting out, that much he knew, but it eased a wildness inside him to search regardless. Windows stretched around the room, framed with concrete and reflecting his endless circling with only the slightest of interruptions by steel pillars. He knew there were scientists beyond the glass, watching his every move and no doubt making notes in his file.
Subject is restless even three hours into his new containment and after copious amounts of relaxants… Displays aggressive tendencies, hostile towards all other life-forms. Disinclined to obey orders. Deliberately difficult.
It wasn’t far from the truth, really. He was a prisoner against his will, his being difficult was the least of their worries at the moment. Granted, the last facility they’d held him hostage in was now little more than a pile of rubble… Was him being ‘difficult’ really worth worrying about? Well, unless it lead to a repeat performance. Which, in all honesty, it very well might.
At least, it would if they tried his patience again.
It was almost enough to make him smile, the thought of that tumbled stone and melted steel, the crater where their precious computers had been. The moment they had seen the smoking pile of stone, they should have known better than to chase after him again. Only a week of freedom, for all that work. Had they even let the bodies of their dead technicians cool before they were dispatching more agents to drag him back? Still, they had, and once again he was caught.
Did they expect him to be happy to be back in a cage?
Bitterly amused under his annoyance, Jaejoong snorted and made another sharp turn. He had stalked the confines of the room for longer than he cared to consider; knew the precise number of steps it took to cover a wall from corner-to-corner, how large the room was, how many strides it would take for him to cross the room at an angle should he leap for the door the next time it opened.
He could probably make it, too, barring unforeseen circumstances.
An air-lock hissed and he froze, turning his head a few inches to consider the barrier as it opened. A Tech stared at him, wide-eyed and nervous, and then stepped out of the way to urge the Kin following her to step forward. The black-haired male did so, moving into the room with careful but unwavering strides. The door hissed shut behind him, leaving the two alone.
The stranger was careful to enter with his eyes averted, not down to the ground in a way that signified he was submissive… And not glaring directly at Jaejoong to challenge. Something different, something momentarily neutral. He looked at the windows surrounding them, frowning faintly, thoughts flying behind his eyes too fast for the Arch to decipher.
Momentarily at war with himself, Jaejoong hesitated, tension licking down his spine like an electric shock. He tamped down the urge to flare his wings, to bare his teeth and challenge… They weren’t enemies, they weren’t…
“Hello.” Jaejoong murmured.
The strange male paused as he considered Jaejoong, tilting his head thoughtfully. Dark eyes flickered to Jae’s face, considering, and then away again. He didn’t respond aloud, which should have warned Jaejoong of how he would reply, but it still came as a shock with that low voice sounded in his head.
‘So… You’re their newest catch, hmm?’
Jae flinched at the sudden touch of the other’s gifts, instincts rioting at the brush of grace. It made his captivity worse, in some ways, to feel the other’s strength so carefully tempered. Unsure how else to respond, Jaejoong cautiously nodded as the words sank in. If there were Techs watching, it looked like the other Kin’s merest glance had caused the reaction. Jae let them think that, watching the other Kin for another moment before turning his head away like a submissive would.
Yoochun dropped his eyes too, shifting away from Jaejoong and moving to place his back against a stone column. He shot a glance at the window, tilted his chin up enough to catch their attention, and crossed his arms. “Hello.”
Jaejoong shot him a quick look, fighting the urge to bow up defensively at the stranger, and then turned away again. He was careful not to react the second time the voice started in his head.
‘We don’t let them know we can do this… But there are things you may ask, that we certainly don’t want them to know either.’
Jaejoong sighed, chewing at the inside of his mouth before deciding on the main question he needed answered. Ducking his head lower, he ran a hand through his dark hair and then reluctantly spoke back. ‘How many Arch Angels here?’
Yoochun seemed to smirk. ‘According to them or according to us?’
‘According to us.’
‘With you? Now there’s three… You, me, and the Seer.’
‘The Seer?’ Jaejoong couldn’t help but toss him a look, but covered it with a snarled question. “What?”
Yoochun shrugged, noncommittal. ‘We call him-‘
‘Xiah.’ Jaejoong interrupted.
Yoochun fought the urge to roll his eyes. ‘You know him… Of course you do. Why am I surprised?’
Jaejoong didn’t respond, but he didn’t need to. In some distant corner of his mind, Yoochun could hear the sound of dolphin-like laughter… And inwardly, it made him grin.
‘Well… That makes things more interesting.’
‘Does it?’ Jaejoong relaxed against the wall, crossing his arms as well.
‘He won’t stop annoying me until he meets you, I’m sure…’
Junsu cut in, a low croon of approval. ‘Ahh… You do know me. I’m so glad to hear it.’
‘Get out of my head.’ Yoochun growled. ‘You know I can’t think straight with you in there.’
‘Stop trying to fool me.’ Junsu scolded. ‘You act like I don’t know you at all. I already know you two will be the best of friends and it will drive me insane with jealousy. Can you please get yourselves out of that damn room so the population will calm down? I want to know everything and they won’t shut up until they’re sure the new Arch hasn’t killed you.’
‘I didn’t realize they cared.’ Yoochun gave Jaejoong a faint smile, surprised when the Arch returned the gesture with a surprisingly fragile look.
‘Thank goodness I’m here to keep an eye on you… Now you and Akio play nicely and hurry up about it.’
‘Hero? Really, Su-ah?’
‘I don’t pick the names, I just deliver the news.’ The Seer replied tartly.
Jaejoong gave Yoochun a puzzled look. ‘Who was that?’
‘That? That was the little ball of trouble we call Xiah, our Seer… It seems you were expected, Hero.’
The Arch, if possible, looked a little more hunted than even the fragile smile had suggested. ‘Expected?’
‘Indeed…’ Yoochun tilted his head in question. ‘So, Akio, tell me… Just what did they do to you back at the other facility, that you burned them to the ground?’
Steel flashed behind the Arch’s eyes, his posture stiffening as though the words came as a physical blow. ‘Why? Looking to get me riled?’
‘I was thinking I would make a ‘don’t piss off the Arch Angel’ list, and hope for the best.’ Yoochun offered innocently.
Jaejoong frowned at him for a moment, and then grinned. ‘Cute… What do they call you? The Comedian?’
Yoochun smiled, but it was more dangerous than kind. ‘A Survivor.’

So this has been sitting on my computer forever... Cleaned it up a bit and added to it. I'm not sure how well Jae will behave as far as having his own PreStory, but here's a bit of it. Anyone even read ACU anymore? I'm not sure how I feel about this. When I take a hiatus, it's because I don't think any of this is worthy of you guys. Hope you like it anyway. I need a name for Chun that doesn't suck. Help! Who sees the Easter Egg?! Anyone? I love you!
