For the first time in his life, Donghae opened his eyes before his father in the morning. He sat up, realization of what day was it today coming to him right away, and beamed. Five seconds later, he was already jumping up and down his father's bed while yelling excitedly, "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy! Wake up!!"
Siwon groaned, his blurry mind barely registering the time on the bedside clock and mostly wondering why the hell was his son up already.
"Hae," he mumbled, "stop that... you're gonna fall off..."
"Daddy!! Come on, come on, wake up! You're going on a date with Kyu today!"
All haze of sleepiness disappeared in an instant. Siwon jolted awake and beamed not unlike his son earlier. "That's right!" He cheered and hugged Donghae who giggled excitedly. "Daddy's going on a date with your future Mommy today!"
"Yaaaay!"
“Yaaaaaaayyy!”
With an overflowing excitement, Siwon leaped from his bed and carried Donghae to the bathroom to take a bath together. Afterwards Donghae helped him pick the clothes to wear and they ate breakfast together. The weather was great. It would be a great, great day for his first date with Kyuhyun.
Although calling it a date would be a bit on the hopeful side.
Still, Kyuhyun had not clearly stated that it would not be a date, so Siwon could interpret it to his liking, really.
The truth was, two days ago Siwon miraculously remembered that the previous doctor, Kyuhyun’s father, would be having his birthday in about two weeks. He mentioned it in a passing to Kyuhyun and asked what kind of gift he wanted to buy for his father. Kyuhyun answered that his father was recently interested in wines.
Guess who has a friend in the wine business who can give him a considerable discount?
Being the opportunist he was, Siwon took the chance and talked Kyuhyun into going with him. Kyuhyun agreed with relatively little resistance. Siwon considered it a huge progress.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Kyuhyun hissed when the father and son pair appeared at the clinic. "I thought we're meeting at the shop."
"And miss the joy of picking up my date?"
"It's not a date!" He hissed again, even though the annoyed look wasn’t so convincing when there was a hint of pink adorning his cheeks, and frantically repeated his words towards the giggling nurse. “It’s not a date!! My father’s birthday-.”
“Of course, you told me yesterday,” the nurse bit her lip to hold herself back. “I just didn’t realize that you’re planning on going with Mr. Choi…”
Kyuhyun scoffed and turned around, mumbling something about how it’s not a big deal anyway and he’s gonna get changed. The nurse managed to keep quiet until Kyuhyun disappeared behind the door. And then she laughed while winking at Siwon, “Well, well. Good going, Mr. Choi. No wonder he panicked yesterday…”
“Yesterday?” Siwon raised a curious eyebrow.
“The doctor who is supposed to take over the clinic today called in sick. His father’s birthday is still in two weeks, right? I thought he could’ve just canceled today’s plan… ” She smiled when realization dawned on Siwon’s face. “But now I know why he went through the trouble of calling so many of his friends until he finally found someone who is available.”
At that moment, Donghae who got bored of playing with the edge of his own shirt looked up to his father and tilted his head. “Daddy, you look creepy.”
“Hush, Hae.”
“Alright, let’s go-,” Kyuhyun, who just walked back into the room, quickly noticed everyone looking at him with different expressions. Siwon’s was particularly… odd. “What?”
“Nothing,” Siwon shook his head. “It’s just that you are very, very cute.”
Kyuhyun frowned, checked his clothes and found that the normal polo shirt and beige pants didn’t quite deserve the sudden, borderline disturbing comment, so he looked back at Siwon and flushed anyway. “Don’t make me change my mind about going with you today.”
“I’m sure you won’t,” Siwon flashed him a confident smile and patted his son’s head. “Okay, Hae, we’ll take you to the daycare and-.”
Donghae widened his eyes and looked as if someone told him that he would never get anymore candy in his life. “B-b-but I wanna go on the date too.”
Siwon blinked in surprise, and only then realized he had forgotten to mention that the date wouldn’t include his son. “Hae…”
“You won’t leave me, right? You and Kyu will take me with you, right?”
He sighed, squatted down in front of his little boy and placed comforting hands on his shoulders. “Listen to me-.”
“No!” Donghae wailed and clung to his father as tight as he could. “I wanna go with you! I don’t wanna go to the daycare!!”
Alright, so it was his fault. If he had explained from the beginning, he could’ve made Donghae understand bit by bit and talked him into staying at the daycare while he and Kyuhyun go on that date. But Donghae had apparently been expecting to be taken along, and to suddenly tell him that it wasn’t going to happen…
Siwon helplessly looked up at Kyuhyun. The other man just shrugged, not looking a tad annoyed by the fact that Donghae is going to tag along. Somehow that created a warm feeling inside Siwon. Kyuhyun may acted like he was annoyed by Donghae, but in truth he was fond of the boy. Really, Kyuhyun would be a great addition to his little family… As if catching up to his train of thought, Kyuhyun suddenly said, “As long as you keep an eye on your son. I’m not babysitting him.”
He chuckled and turned his attention back to his nearly weeping boy. "Okay, Donghae," Siwon patted his back and scooted him back a bit. "You can go with us. Daddy’s sorry so don’t cry, alright? But you have to promise Daddy one thing and you can't break this promise."
"I promise, Daddy!" Donghae raised his little finger eagerly and Siwon linked it with his own.
"Promise me," Siwon said with a strict and serious expression, "that you will close your eyes when Daddy kiss Kyuhyun later."
On the side, Kyuhyun yelled with a burning face, "Not gonna happen!!"
