I'm really pleased that it was effective. I loved telling the story, and I'm very sure that you will find the words to write what you are writing.
We always do. Sometimes it just takes longer. If you're anything like me (and I think you are), you'll be affected by someone else's fic, but then you'll absorb it and your voice will re-emerge.
I'm going to read your stuff this weekend! w00t!

I love this line. It's so simple and yet perfect, and I love that Sam is smart enough to know what's going on and reassure Dean.
“It’s wrong,” Dean says weakly. “I want what’s wrong. And I can’t have it. I just have to deal, okay? It's not your problem.” He lays his head down on his arm and whispers: "I can't do that. Not to you."
I reread this little part about four times in rapid succession. I just couldn't move on right away, I had to savour the moment, the way Dean is so reluctant to do ANYTHING that might harm Sam, even to the point where he's denying Sam something he wants because he thinks it's a bad idea.
And then the end, Need you and help me echo through Dean's brain. Dean doesn't know if Sam knows that these are the words that could make Dean do anything. it's so absolutely true in canon, and I love that the way you showed it wasn't so much the puppy eyes (I'm guilty of using that in my own fic, lol) but the words Sam uses, and I might be ( ... )

Thank you so much for reading! And for your thoughtful comments!!
And, you know, I wonder about which line to put as the cut so you telling me that the line I chose helped draw you in? That's very good information for me to know.
Thanks again for reading and commenting.

He'll take the consequences like a man, when they come, and they'll all be worth it.
That's the Dean who needs his brother. *sighs*
