We ended up with a forced unplugged vacation a few years back & it was the best vacation I've had in a long time.

We were in ID visiting friends, but hours before our plane landed, a storm took out the power substation in their quite rural town. No cell reception unless we drove 20 mins into town. Power wasn't restored for 5 days, the morning we left to come back home.

The unplanned total disconnect ended up turning into the recharge that each of us desperately needed.

i lost my phone once and, once i figured out who had it, took my sweet time getting it back. this seemed to confound and even infuriate some of the people i knew/had relationships with, as does not being on facebook, etc, heh. i just don't care.

i would have a problem giving up tv though, strange as that sounds. i like some kind of tv, whether 'actual' tv or a dvd, or tv on the internet to decompress and keep me company. i also can't fall asleep very well without some kind of visual noise. (i.e., even if my eyes are closed, the radio or music isn't as good for some reason.)
