Chapter 6: November 21 2005, Pittsburgh

The slides created daring, evocative splashes of colour against the backdrop of uneven sand coloured walls and the classic white and steel lines of the expensive conference room trappings.

The audience’s attention darted across them as their main focus used the expanse of the room as a stage from where ( Read more... )

Nooooo! Too soon! Very nice visual of Brian making his pitch and the subsequent scene, though. I felt like I was watching instead of reading. Glad to see the friendship between Brian and Ted. Good chapter even though I didn't want Alex to go yet.

Thank you so much for your consistent and positive feedback. It means the world to know that someone has actually read and even enjoyed it.

I hated getting rid of Alex too :-(

This is astonishing. Usualy I know quiet soon where a story is going, but not with this one. And Your style is unique bas well. It is good that You mention Justin so rarely, it leaves room for my conjectures.
Thank You. I am waiting expectantly for the next chapter.

Wow! Thank you!

And yeah, I try not to spell everything out, especially about Justin since I guess this mainly turned out to be Brian's story...so far anyways ;-)

Oh, no.... this was sooo sad :(
Brian's pain and sheer exhaustion was so hard to read, but so well written. Love the way you describe situations, it really makes me feel I'm watching instead of reading.
Ted's support was lovely to read, his dialogue with Brian was beautiful.
A wonderful chapter, sort of painfully beautiful.
Can't wait for more!
Hugs,
Arlad

I can't think of a better compliment :-) Thanks a million Arlad *hugs*

I promise to post more soon...and this is pretty much also the point in the story where the tide begins to turn in terms of sadness :-)

Ah, nothing better than to come home and seeing you have updated twice while I was gone. *hugs*
God, my heart breaks for Alex now all over again. *sobs*

I pretty much love everything about that conversation between Brian and Ted, especially this part when Ted forces Brian to accept his help.

“Stop being an ass Bri, it won’t kill you to let someone be your friend for once,” Ted retaliated in a hurt voice and shoved a hand ineffectually against Brian’s slumped shoulder.

“No?” Brian looked at him sideways between the hands cupping his face. “Funny, because it kind of feels that way,” he forced out with a mirthless laugh.

Ted’s fingers curled around his shoulder in a firm grip. “Look, I know I’m not very good in these kinds of situations but please…..just for once accept that I am your friend and let me help,” he said in a painfully sincere voice.

Brian looked at him again and leaned a little against the hand at his shoulder in a silent apology. He is such a good and loyal friend. And the shifting from Brian relying on Ted more than ( ... )

Thank you Kari...again *giggles*

You are the absolutely best form of encouragement imaginable.

And I loved being able to put words to our discussions on Ted slowly becoming the more natural companion to Brian as his confidence grows and they work together...even if this sort of situation would still make him nervous and a little clutzy with his words when faced with a Brian in this state
