My garden scarf from Happy Hooker

May 10, 2006 11:21

I used handspun and hand dyed yarns to comeplete my version of this cute scarf. Sorry the pics aren't better but it is hard to take pics of your self in a scarf :)
Enjoy

Thanks.
The only problem is that it is 100% wool :)
I am thinking of just hanging it up in my new office as decoration.

Thank you. It is easy peasy. Really something like this I think is a good starter project. Do you own any crochet books or hooks?

Thanks. Yeah I honestly thought about making something bigger as a curtian or maybe a curtian tie back. I just know that I love to work with wool but it hats my neck :)

Totally cute!

You should see the Ella scarf from Knitwhits. We have a sample in the shop I work in, and it's lovely. ^_^

Wow that is pretty! I was telling Michael yesterday that I really enjoyed seeing your knitting posts. I'm getting ready to buy a spinning wheel in a couple months, I want to go to a shop and take a class first before I drop the cash for one. ANyway I'm babbling :)
Thanks for the compliment and the link.

I have been really remiss in posting about my knitting. -_-

I haven't taken the route to a spinning wheel, but I do own a couple drop spindles, and way more roving than I should have.

I really like Carolina Homespun, but they are local for me. I definitely recommend trying out wheels before you buy one. I like the little uhm, Lendrum? I think. I'm no good at a wheel, though.

And if you don't know about it already, there's an LJ community dedicated to spinning, spinningfiber.

Yeah I have a drop spindle too, just no time yet to try to work it out.
I got addicted to dyeing fiber a few months ago, I was buying it, dyeing it, and then paying someone to spin it for me. I just figure I should cut out the paying to spin part :)
I've been looking at the Ashford Kiwi, mainly because it is cheep but the ladies over at spinningfiber seem to suggest that for beginners.

I love this piece, it is on my wall in my craft room. Since I can't wear the wool I have it to decorate :)
