The Family Stone

This movie is pretty freaking sad for a comedy.
It's good but I thought it was a light hearted comedy and it is getting all serious on me.

I wanted to see that and then noticed that Sarah Jessica Parker is in it, and I knew the plot would have to sour enough for her to earn her paycheck by whining. Sad, really, because I like most of the other people in the movie (Claire Danes, Luke Wilson, etc).

I passed on it and got King Kong instead. Not sure that was any better of a choice.

LOL, I liked her in Sex In The City just because she was a writer. I really can't stand her character in this movie tho, it is oddly the same as "Carrie" in some ways, well actually she is whiney;)

Well I liked it better than King Kong, it is good it just wasn't what I was expecting at all. I laughed a bit in the first part but spent most of the end of it crying. I would suggest renting it. Claire Danes looks so weird grown up, I have this ever present image of her in the My So Called Life look.

I rented it this week and sat down expecting a comedy. That last scene -- I was crying! I HATE when they get you like that without warning!

It was good, though.

Yeah I liked it I was just completely surprised that it was so not the funny movie I had wanted to see forever.
