"Batman to all points. I could use some air support. Since I can't fly. At all.

"...

"Now would be good."

Many, many things -- Jim Carrey in "Liar, Liar;" that one gas station scene in MST3K's "Werewolf," the Cannibal Island scene in PotC: DMC, the RiffTrax for "The Room" -- have made me laugh for far longer than this snatch of dialog did.

But I don't think anything has ever made me laugh so intensely. I was laughing so hard I mostly couldn't get the laughter OUT and just sat on the couch with tears squeezing out of my eyes and my arms flailing as I concentrated on not choking. Because DAMN.

Call it gallows humor or whistling in the dark, but this is my absolute, hands-down, bizarrely optimistic, most favored type of humor -- the ability to, well, "laugh at the darkness." And managing to keep a sense of humor while you're plummeting to your doom is as shining an example as you can get of that. Those last four words of Batman's just make my LIFE.

Bruce, I just LOVE you to pieces.

(And the delivery, the DELIVERY! He's so deadpan CALM! I crack up just thinking about it!!)

If "Now would be good" doesn't join Jack Sparrow's "One can only hope" and the Doctor's pronunciation of "Well ---" in my daily vocabulary, I will be very very VERY surprised.
