OMG- LOL!!! Is it related to cockroaches by any chance, they are supposed to be indestructable as well!

The chime on my alarm somehow got turned on while I was away, I expect my Poppysitter hit the wrong button. Now whenever I go into the kitchen or open the back door it makes a little da da da sound. Somewhere I have a manual which will tell me how to turn it off.

Oh no! Alarms are a faff. When we had one, I'd always manage to walk into a room without switching the darn thing off.

It's funny how they're easy to operate unless you've had experience with them. They seem to intimidate people who haven't ...

Have you ever seen the episode of Friends where Phoebe is trying to kill the smoke alarm?

Well, she tried pulling it all apart - didn't work. Then shetried bashing it with a hammer, I think, which also didn't work. She eventually wrapped it in a blanket and threw it down the rubbish shoot to get some peace. Then a fireman turned up on her doorstep with it, saying didn't she know it's an offence to throw her fire alarm away. She was more shocked that it had come back, but the fireman pointed out she had her name on the blanket.

So she asks the fireman how to switch it off and he says to use the off switch which is on the inside. When she goes to turn it off though, where she's battered it so much she's pulled the switch out, thus making it impossible to stop! Such a funny episode.
