Why have you chosen this zen center instead of some other zen center? How do you go about choosing a zen center?

I found the TZC through their podcast The Drinking Gourd off of iTunes. The format with which the teachings are presented, and hearing the questions from the membership afterward really proved to be helpful for me. Its in the Zen tradition, and I have been mostly familiar with the Thai and Tibetan traditions - available by native-language monks in the area.

Hearing Zen teachings from a MidWesterner in terms and an accent I could easily understand really helped too, truth be told. There are a lot of references to Star Wars and the Matrix in what he talks about. In fact, I could very easily see the Sensei fitting in seamlessly with most of my other social circles - he just speaks my language and makes it very accessible.
