I love this icon so much and super fascinating to read how you made it :D
Honestly, I probably would have been done after layer 10, I don't have that much patience while making icons, especially not when more than three texture are involved lol

thanks! haha sometimes i wish i can make icons with less layers but my brain just doesn't work that way apparently. i can spend hours just randomly adding stuff *shrugs* oh well XD

I love this icon of yours and it's really amazing to see how much work you actually did on that cap!

thank you! and by work, you mean not being able to make my mind up about the coloring? lol :P

LOL that too, but mostly I love how you work with textures. I admit I get angsty with them after a while, because the way I use them is mostly boring and I'm like "HOW!!" because I couldn't even think to achieve something like this icon up here!

thanks! but tbh, what i do is mostly drag a texture in, scroll through the layer modes and pray i find something that works haha. and anyway, i would never be able to do what you do with brushes so we all have our strengths :P

I'm speechless. Holly molly. This made me realize that sometimes you have to continue, even when you might no be that happy about the results you are getting.

I never imagined how many color adjustments and textures would go on something like this. Thank you very much, I'll be sure to try this, specially working with the b&w adjustment layers.

haha, you can probably achieve this with less steps if you start out knowing what you're going for (at the very least color-wise). i'm often wishy-washy so i take the long way round doing things. but yeah, that's why i like stamping/sharpening throughout an icon--it helps when i go back to previous layers and change settings. of course it makes it harder to explain in tutorials XD
