can you give me some tips on sharpening icons?

For sharpening tips i like using the paint daubs filter (brush size: 1, sharpness: 1) on a new layer with the stamped image of your icon so far. then edit > fade around 50% (could be more or less, it depends on how sharp the image is already) and if it's still too sharp i lower the opacity of the stamped layer. You can check out some of my icon walkthroughs/tutorials to see the effect :)

Oh, Deathless. I love Valente's writing, but I wasn't as in love with Deathless as I wanted to be. Of course, your icons are making me love it. They're brilliant! Compositionally, textually, you're so wildly creative. It's wonderful to see someone doing something completely different with icon-making. These are amazing!

Thank you! Though tbh i mostly just like to copy what other people do to try and see how they do it XD I hear her fairyland trilogy is better but i have to check it out. I'm just a sucker for fairy tale retellings.

I think I've read a bit of that trilogy, but it must have been a while ago, because I can't really remember. Oh well. Maybe I'll find some time to give it another try soon. :)

Oh my gosh I don't even know where to begin. I've actually just finished Deathless a couple of days ago, so perfect timing there. And Tilda as The Hour, yessss. I've also had that image from Twelfth Night saved for some time and now I don't have to do anything with it because yours is perfection *_*

Thank you! tilda swinton for everything tbh! I love that she does all these weird photoshoots so it fits perfectly for dreamcasting her in books like these haha. And Twelfth night is one of my favorite plays so i'm sad that production didn't make it on dvd so i can icon the heck out of it XD

It's never occurred to me to look up theatre productions on DVD. I've just sat here abroad and sulked at my lack of options. Did get to see my first plays this year and enjoyed the experience thoroughly. It'll probably be a yearly thing for me from now on :)
