I’ve been reading Tolkien’s The Silmarillion, which is essentially a biblical style mythology/history of Middle Earth.   It’s proving slow going on account of all the unfamiliar words-names of characters, races, and places.  Because of my learning disability I’ve never been able to “sound things out.”  Since I can’t do this my method of reading is

The Silmarillion is fantastic. I thought of it as reading a encyclopedia of Middle Earth myth. But, yeah, really hard to read for pleasure. It's more a book one studies.

I've been reading a library copy but I think I'm just going to have to get my own copy so I can read it a little at a time.

I love Tolkien but I haven't read that.......
