I'm not sure if I'm allowed to leave a message but I just have to say, that is TOTALLY my reading of the film! Especially the 'Seth being in love with Richie' part. I know Richie's supposed to be the homocidal rapist but he only goes after girls and women. Am I the only one who sees the disappointment in Seth's face and not just disgust at that fact? (okay, I'm probably pushing it to far now but still...) Your essay makes complete sense and you're the only other person I've find who reads the movie the same as me! Thanks SO much for writing and posting this. You hvae made me VERY happy!

I think we're very rare, unfortunately. I have no idea why there aren't more fics out there. I think maybe because it's a 'boys' film and boys don't write much stuff so it's up to us few girls. I've just started writing for the fandom and I plan to post my first story soon. It's hard because there are so many possibilities I don't know where to begin ( ... )

I think Quentain Tarantino really likes to mess around with his audience and does slashy things in his films totally on purpose, such as the romance between Mr. Orange and Mr. White is Reservoir Dogs (which I've written a lot about). I strongly suspect had a good bit to do with the subtext and of course we know from George Clooney's comments on playing Batman as gay that he doesn't object to adding a homoerotic spin to his characters....

I'm the mod of a community called very small lj community called Tarantinoverse- if you write anything about Seth and Richie I'd love it if you posted there.

It's mainly my stuff so far. As you said, Tarantinos movie do have a mostly macho minded audience that would not see homoerotic subtext if it bit them in the ass so there aren't a lot of people writing slash in these fandoms.

Oh my stars and garters... I may have to drop down on one knee and ask you to marry me or something here...

First I find the Orange/White, and now... *le sigh*

I saw this movie at a young age, because I live in the vampire house. Seriously, my dad raised us on the kind of horror flicks and gorefests most parents try to preven their children from seeing. And the love here is pretty obvious. Disturbing, maybe, but it's very, very *there*.

Thanks for making me feel, if not less crazy, then at least less alone in the craziness.

Thank you so much for reading and commenting, I'm so glad you liked it. I love the whole twisted dynamic of the Gecko brothers. Seeing this again makes me realize it's been a long, long time since I've written anything about them. Maybe I ought to dig up my copy of From Dusk Till Dawn and watch it again.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting. I've got to watch FDtD again, it's been way too long. Seth really is so in love. That's the bitter irony. He's the sane one.
