Okay. Firstly, your writing style greatly intrigues me. A lot. It fits very nicely with the fairytale metaphor you've got going, and which just intrigues me all the more. I also thought your characterization was an interesting take. My primary focus is usually Mark, and I tend to not concentrate on Lexie as much as I should, but I think I adored her in this piece. You've given her a lot of layers in this, which I sometimes think the show lacks, and because of that, she just shines beautifully in this. As does Mark, I should add. He's pretty minimal in the story, but when he does appear, you've used him superbly. It's rather impressive how much you were able to convey on his character in so few words
( ... )
Wow. Your comment literally floored me. It's so great to hear that this worked for you, considering that I'm attempting to write something wholeheartedly after about two years. I'm glad that you were able to like the characterizations. Writing Lexie was difficult; the show doesn't develop her character that much but I would think that having so much of her life fall apart in such a small amount of time is a great change, to say the least.
As for Mark, well, he's always been my favorite character in the show. It's so great to hear that you liked how I portrayed him here. It really means a lot especially, considering, English is my third language. I can speak fluently but when I write, sometimes I'm unsure about the grammar and punctuation.
Of course, you're most welcome to friend me. I'll friend you back right away. My journal does contain loads of inane rl rambling though, so consider yourself warned! =)
Gah, so I saw where labil recommended this, and so (despite not really being into Lexie and Mark) I read it, well... correction. I'm still reading it. I'm at work, in a hospital, and I only got half way through and I started bawling (when they were eating lunch at George's grave) and I had to stop so my mascara wouldn't run and patients wouldn't wonder why the hell their psychologist looks like she's about to slit her wrists! Haha!
So... I'm here, taking deep breaths, remembering how much I really, really loved George, and getting ready to read the rest!
Aww, I'm sorry this made you cry! *offers you tissues* Yeah, I loved George too. A lot. He was so much different from the other interns and the doctors that he really stood out. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on this. I hope you like the rest of it too! :D
I loved that Lexie refused to forget him and went so far as to watch surgical tapes of his hands. And Mark in this story was amazing. He was just what Lexie needed to make it through such a hard day. Actually taking her to his grave for lunch - it wasn't a typical move but definitely creative and a very nice gesture. It showed how much he cares about Lexie and her being okay.
Thank you! I'm glad this worked for you and that you liked it. Yeah, people wouldn't normally take someone to a cemetery for lunch but it's Mark, you know? I don't think he's ever been ordinary.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read and comment!
