Immortal questions

Why have I had to eject five fireflies from my living room this evening? I really didn't think the drafts were that big. Where are they coming from? Well, at least my area has them -- I learned that there are no fireflies in the San Francisco area. Sad.

Why is the vealcake tag getting so much action? )

I've been meaning to watch this ^^

I've also been meaning to do a Nino post all day, but keep getting distracted by my flist, who love awesome books and get me to spend the last two days reading them.

Graceling&hearts!

Robin McKinley (2 down, 3 more I'd like to do this week), Connie Willis (2 down), Tamora Pierce--how did I miss that the new Bloodhound book was already out? *___*

I have a pile of about 6 or 7 more I want to read, but friends are in crisis, kitty keeps trying to sneak in the house, and I still haven't done a Nino post.

We're not really excited about travel NE-bound really either, but . . . *sighs*

8 hours round trip and we're probably going to have to play stupid games because I can't believe the older generations won't insist :P

Kill me.

Ao no Honoo was really good. I'd had it on the hard drive for about six months, not wanting to depress myself. But I said I'd watch it this summer definitely, and the Birthday seemed like an occasion. It is somewhat depressing, but damned good. And about halfway through I recognized a very young Matsuura Aya. With a normal schoolgirl's haircut camouflaging her quite effectively ( ... )

I know what you mean about body types . . . I think of all the times I referred to the Saiyuki bod type as 'heroin-chic' and . . . erm. . . topless idols kind of look like that. *___* Who knew?

There are a couple of new (to me) McKinley books, Dragonhaven (which I've heard really annoyed people by trying to copy teen diction in a first-person narrative) and Chalice, which looks much more promising, and since I suspect I won't see in in paperback for a long time, if ever, I bought it hardcover, but have been too busy reading the others to get to it.

READ GRACELING. I just did this weekend, and it's fantastic&hearts

I've been meaning to read RnK, but just haven't. Boy and I just made it through the first season of the Quiz Show. SBK has managed to be even more obnoxious than Stormy, so I'm glad I prefer Stormy's subs, even if they are slower.

Thanks for the shower tips. I've only once been to one and I think I was 12 or something--at least that I can remember. And it annoyed me. Maybe we can hide somewhere with Anna . . .

I kind of doubt Anna will be able to hide, unless they send her out to golf with the men-in-law like they did to Brad. But if you offer yourself up for kitchen duty, you can have a better excuse to avoid shower games than just saying you don't want to play ( ... )
