progress report?

With just a week left until the deadline, I think this is a good point to ask: how's everyone doing? Any problems I should know about? Please, if you can, give me some indication of how far along you are, so that I can make timely arrangements for deadline extension and such. I am willing to make them, I just need to know in advance

Ummm, I sort of have a problem: I'm sure that you don't experience this anymore, but every time I try to start writing, I get this terrible feeling that what I write can't even compare to what you guys write, which leaves me staring at a blank word document everyday.

On another note, I'm trying to devote more time to RL and it's keeping me really busy, so I'm finding it difficult to even attempt writing. I know this is a sorry excuse, but I might not be able to make the deadline. I'll work my ass off this week trying though. Or maybe I could drop out altogether and leave fandom in it's happy place without my interference? Y/Y? :/

Um, NO? Do you WANT to traumatize me for life? Do you WANT me to leave my village and take up with creepy old men to exact vengeance?

Guilt-tripping aside, I can only tell you what I've been telling myself this past week: just write the thing. Really, I feel like you all the time, freaking out about sounding derivative and biting ideas from people smarter than me, but you just have to ignore that. Shamelessness, it's the fandom way.

I'll probably push the deadline back to about a week later, but I can't do it again after this. Can I do anything else to help?

Okay, I'll just force myself into action. I have a basic outline of what I want to write already, so hopefully everything will fill itself out. And I'll make sure I get it done on time, no worries. Ummm, I might have to ask you to edit it, so how many days would you probably need? I know you're most likely flooded with stories, so I'll be sure to give you enough time to finish murdering it.

If you really want me to look over your story, I'd ask for a semi-finished draft by the 15th. I'll probably extend the deadline, so you can have the time to polish up the story before submitting. Just a note, I'm a very lax beta. I only tend to make suggestions about phrasings and very occasionally I'll say something like, "Maybe if you changed this little bit the story would flow more, ack idk!" If you want a specific area to go under scrutiny, you have to tell me.

Dramatically stalled with ~500 words left, so I'm pretty sure I'll be okay with the deadline. I have never actually...edited...anything; maybe I should, you know, do that.

In the meantime, I'll cheer on everybody else and offer help if anyone needs it /pom-poms

I would say I'm about...meh...3/4 of the way through. RL has been doing its best to make writing difficult, but I'm going to be glued to my computer all week in a mad rush to (hopefully) get it done. T-T If anyone else needs an extension, though, don't think I won't take advantage (I'm a terrible person..?)!

I don't think anyone would mind getting an extension, even if they're already good to go with their entries. More time to polish your work is never a bad thing. I want everyone to feel good about this. If I do set an extension, I'll make another post about it later this week. Ganbatte!

I think I'm okay. I'm trying to decide whether to attempt to scan/clean/CG it on the computer, or use my prismacolors and color it by hand. x3 perils either way! I'll um, let you know if not but i think i can make the deadline.

At the risk of sounding stupid, you can try... both? Scan it and then color the physical copy am I talking out of my ass? If everyone else gets an extension you'll get one too, so you can take the time to mull over this terribly important decision.

Chest bump! Their sound consoles me in this time of RL fuckery of which I will no longer speak because I'm almost crossing over from "whiny" into "insufferable" at this point.

The problem is that CG is terribly time-consuming. in the agony of doing my sn exchange entry, I spent an entire day painstakingly cleaning up lines at 200% resolution in photoshop, until they freaking sparkled and shined.
Not to say I wouldn't be willing to do that for this, too... I'll probably end up scanning it anyway for safety purposes and prismacoloring it, then CG it if I end up hating the hand-colored version. *phew* >_>

Naw dog, naw. this is the place to vent about such things. And it's your freaking journal. Besides, it's not whining if shit really does suck, which sometimes it does.

Maybe I shouldn't comment because I've totally dropped out anyway, but I'm pretending I'm still in.

I've finished only about half but RL/teenage-emo-ness is majorly getting in the way, my self-esteem completely flies away when I remember you or nthcoincident and HOLYSHITWHATHAVEIGOTTENMYSELFINTO, and I've descended to writing whatever (which is actually a form of stalling).

So, I'm thinking this, if anyone is willing to read through shit my fic, I'm going to send them the unfinished piece and let their better, mightier brains tell me how to proceed? I've been at a STANDSTILL for forever.

Wait a-forgive me if I'm wrong, but I just noticed something. Are you, by any chance, hewhoistomriddle over on ffn? Because if you are, I am just going to tilt my head and stare at you for insinuating that you are an intimidatee, as opposed to the intimidator that you actually are. xD
