[Heeeeey it's Moro, sneaking through your village again! As it gets dark, she usually makes rounds. Though, after a few days of rain... that wet wolf musk is pretty strong to those not used to it. Yuck

Oi, She-Wolf. You smell. What're you doing shedding all over the place? If this is some misbegotten attempt at showing the humans who's boss, you're only making them realize how smelly you are at the moment.. Also please don't bite me for saying so.
So.. [He seems genuinely confused on this point] why can't humans feel what you feel..? Time, even in great amounts, doesn't always hold the answer. An immortal is limited in its thoughts and worries and emotions in just the same way that someone who's made of these things is limited by its morality.
[He's eying her mouth to make sure it doesn't come swinging his way without warning, but he's also not backing down visibly]
There's a story, from one of our older civilizations. It tells of their gods living on a mountain, they were all powerful in their combined might, and immortal. However, they found that as the centuries went by, the only real feelings you could attain, were from those of the mortal.
Every day they would come down and in some way, become a part of the mortal realm. There's no end to the story, because it is impossible to know if it's true. But I think, that in some way these gods of old realized their immortality into mortality, just so they could experience life, and feel life, the way the mortal humans did.
[He sighs, looking over at the wolf god] I'll wash your fur if you'd let me, I don't know if it bothers you or not.
You are a fool, then. The gods are not immortal. We live for as long as we serve a purpose to the Forest Spirit, and no longer. And you are wrong in that story, to claim that the gods feel nothing. We feel hatred and pain for the forest - we would die for it. And I would lift my jaws even after my death to protect my forest.
Good. As long as you can feel that, you're fine by me. [He looks at the ground, then back up]
What about someone who you haven't made? Or someone who hasn't made you? I mean, have you fallen in love before? [He looks a little worried about asking such a bold question, but he doubts he'll be able to ask another god anytime soon, so he's taking a chance]
...No. I am merely observing 'god', at the moment. [He manages to quell the shaking in the majority of his body, but his ears flick down unconsciously at the threat]

[There is a pause.]
...Yes. I feel love. And devotion. To first the Forest Spirit, whom I owe my very existence to, and then to my pups.

[There's a longer pause about that one.]
...Oh, you mean the human mating ritual.
[...In short, no, not in her world.]
But somehow I was pulled into it here, some time back, with a god of death that lives amongst the humans.
