[A post from Moro's journal is extremely rare - that thing almost always sits in her den, completely ignored. But apparently, her message is pressing enough to paw at the thing until she feels it's turned on.

Which means about five minutes of a giant paw padding the paper before Moro's grumbling voice goes through it.]If you humans do hear me: do ( Read more... )

[But what are your thoughts on redheads and ice weasels that tread near and possibly into your den?]

[She'll catch that scent, and emerge from her den. It's kind of aesthetically awesome, since the mouth of the den looks a little smaller, so such a big beast as Moro coming out makes her look even bigger.]

[So what's in here, anyw-

Oh. This is Moro's den.

Hi Moro.]

How did you find my den?

[You see, today started out with Senri taking a little stroll in the woods because he found some animal tracks that were distracting enough to follow.

...but unfortunately things took a bad turn for him because now he can't remember where he is relative to the village. He'll probably just follow his own tacks back, but considering he took the scenic route through the forest that will still take awhile.]

[You might notice some very, very large wolf tracks. Only a short while before Moro might enter your view.]

[Yes, those are very interesting to him, which is why is going to stop completely just to poke at the prints. He knows that a wolf is and what their tracks look like, but these are just so amazingly huge to him.

Though, he does pick up on her presence before she's in plain sight. She was pretty hard to miss between being fairly observant of his surroundings and having a sensitive bear +anima.

Which, speaking of, Moro may notice that his scent is similarly strange like Cooro's, if you just replace crow with bear.]

[Yes, that scent is quite familiar. It's bringing Moro closer, intent on finding the source.]

['...My first thought was that this was about the kindling I needed for that bath during the horoscope week.

My second thought was of the very angry guy running into over nine thousand trees that I saw. Yeah, of the two of us, I'm guessing any gentle PSAs like this one are directed towards him.']

Uh, right. Is there a specific reason for this reminder?

['Not to mention the phrase "you humans" has been filed away for future reference. One day, I'd like to refer to people as "you humans." Just to throw them off the scent.']

I might as well warn you in advance. Apparently not all humans know that I will devour those who defile my forest.

...That does sound like a discouragement to cut down trees. Might've been good to mention that, too.

Most should know this.

[Ah, Moro, just the one she wanted to speak with. Miyabi's glad to hear the voice of the god, and she smiles before picking up her journal to ask a very important question. It's an idea she had for a while now, but one she never pursued, if only because it;d be a hard task for her alone to do, but anyone cutting down trees in Moro's forest would be...punished.]

Mother Moro. [She bows her head.] I'd like to ask a favor.

f...would it be all right if I, and maybe a few of my friends cut some trees in the forest? I'd like to make a torii and place it before Amaterasu's tree, if that'd be all right. [A gift to the great goddess, now gone.] To use your trees would be an honor I'd be grateful to have, if you'll allow it.

Yes, for Amaterasu, it would be an honor.

Thank you, Mother. [Ah, that's such a relief. Now she won't feel bad asking for people to help.] You have my word that nothing will go to waste, nor will we take anything more than needed.

And in the spring, I'll plant more for you. [Her mood changes, to one of excitement and happiness.] I can make real trees now! Not just saplings, but trees! S-Small ones, but...

Then the forest will do well to have you.

[ ...This actually makes perfect sense to Aerith without seeming condescending because she knows. She knows. People who don't think about flowers don't remember some pretty basic things.

...She also remembers you chasing her 8( but she figures she can ask for the sake of plant life. ]

No one's doing that now, are they? The trees are okay?

They are yet unharmed. But humans have been known for their stupidity.

It's not stupidity, they just don't know better. That's different.

They are guilty of both slights.
