From The Ashes (Chapter 22/?)

Chapter 22~ The Long Road Home

In the end, Connor’s fervent protests were overruled by a very determined vampire. Not that he didn’t give it his all. There was even a moment when (Faith had to stifle a laugh at that) Angel looked like he was ready to bodily throw the kid over his shoulder and be done with it. But he had finally prevailed, ( Read more... )

Okay, not going to kill you, but...you could have left them about to be sucked into a hell dimension or something! Anything but at the edge of a breakup ( ... )

Ah, but an internal conflict is so much more angsty than an external one :P And they were overdue, don't you think? What with Angel being on a roll with the 'sending people he loves away' spiel he's on right now ;)

Angel needs to be in a black coat; it's just fact.

IKR??? I was so sad that I destroyed the other one at the beginning that I just had to replace it. I gave myself a good laugh at the thought of the look on Giles' face when he sees that bill :P

They'd be doing so well if they weren't such an angst factory.

I have nothing pertinent to add, other than the fact that this made me crack up :D

I think it was important for Connor to peace out at this point, not just because him being there distracts Angel, but also because I wanted to bring it down to the core four for a while. What I like about post-Origins Connor is that you really get the sense he would understand Angel's dilemma, and wouldn't just do whatever the hell he feels like. Although, he is the hate-child of Angel and Darla, so you never know ( ... )

If "angst factory" cracked you up, "hate-child" more than matched it for me.

I'm also adding "sewer talks" to my B/A-centric slang vocabulary, since I like the way we all immediately know what it implies. XD

*Throws shoe at you*

You're breaking them up! Evil evil woman! And on Valentine's Day too! :p

I loved the interaction between Connor and Angel, especially how Connor chose to let his Dad know that he cared. It was sweet.

The bedroom scene was really intimate, ya know in a non tactile way lol. Buffy kinda left herself open in that scene and what does our boy do? Break their hearts all over again! I think Willow should give him a stern talking to again á la Reptile Boy! ;)

Can't wait to see how this goes :)

*evades shoe by narrow margin*

Incidental Valentine's Day is incidental, I swear, lol.

I love the possibilities of post-Origins Connor, and really try to make him likable. It doesn't mean he'll be that understanding for long, but still... ;)

OMG, Willow in Reptile Boy is the greatest thing ever. Angel and Giles, with their faces of being schooled by the tiny girl, heeee.

You know Angel. Once he goes into angst mode, there's no reasoning with him. Lets hope Buffy's smarter :P

Thanks so much for the comments, hon!

Well that was mean. At least he didn't bring her the heart of a shopgirl.

I liked the ease between Faith and Angel. It's such a contrast to angsty Buffy Angel exchanges. That's true love's way isn't it?

*Snorts* Yeah, that Angelus was a real charmer, wasn't he ;)

Yeah, Faith/Angel vs Buffy/Angel is a pretty glaring contrast, isn't it? I guess it goes to show the difference between loving someone and being IN love with them, the difference between friendship and passion. It's almost like Faith and Angel are comforted by each other's presence because they've seen each other at their worst and it creates a comraderie between them, but that very same concept taints the Buffy/Angel relationship because they haven't let go of the guilt.

Darn it! Cliffhanger!!! Angel/Anna: Why are you tearing my heart out?! And after all that nice stuff about "their bed" and leather jackets too. But Buffy/Anna: Excellent response and ending line. That was quite zingy. I liked it a lot.

Thanks so much, hon! I hope you're feeling better!

You know Angel. He always has to succumb to the guilt, lol. Maybe Buffy will give him a swift kick in the rear and help dislodge his head from his ass ;)
