Want to road-trip to our Bitchin' Party? Work it out here! (NOTE: This is NOT the thread to coordinate transportation from the airport. That will come later.)

So, I am trying to decide whether to fly or drive to BP from Las Vegas, NV. I do love roadtrips and so I'm tempted, but it would be a big plus in the "drive" column if other people along the way needed transport and could help out with gas money.

I would likely head out via California and Oregon, rather than going through Utah. Unless there's someone in those parts who needed a ride.

I have a big-ass truck/SUV thing with lots of room for baggage and fangirls alike, and an excellent sound system.

Anyone interested?

Just FYI: I like the Utah route better, if you decide to drive. I've driven both (I've road-tripped Portland/Las Vegas twice, once in 2003 and again in 2007), and the road through Oregon is rather embarrassing. The rest stops are way less likely to be maintained. There are a lot more places where the road is only one lane, and thus there's no room to pass. Also, a lot of the Oregon route goes through towns where's there's only a single gas station, and the prices get ridiculous. There seems to be more choice Utah-way. On the other hand, the Oregon route makes it a lot easier to hook up with I-5 since you're going all the way up to Issaquah.

Good luck.

I just found out that I'm apparently driving up alone from Portland, though I do have someone coming back with me. Does anyone want to ride with? I have an adorable Nissan Cube named Peabody, aka the Brave Little Toaster. I just had a freakin' awesome sound system put in, and I have wide-ranging musical tastes. I like to think I strike a good balance between "MUST GET THERE WITHOUT DELAY HERE PEE IN THIS CUP" and "MUST STOP EVERY TWENTY MINUTES TO GET OUT AND WANDER AROUND AIMLESSLY." Room for belongings, of course. Gas cost sharing requested, but if you're really broke we can work something out.
