Camelot stood peaceful as it sometimes did: no sorcerers had been burned in about a forthnight, there were no bandits getting particularly close to the city proper, and there were no real problems with the food or water

Arthur's Chambersbitch_princeSeptember 5 2010, 08:09:35 UTC
But on Saturday night, in Arthur's chambers, a prince slept the sleep of the well-shagged-out, spread out across the bed with an arm slung liberally around a dark-haired secret sorcerer. Which was in absolutely no fashion anything new, mind, nor was the light snoring.

Ah, Merlin's sneaky plan was halfway completed.
...okay, so the sex hadn't actually been in the plan, but it worked so he could investigate this before telling Arthur what was going on. No need to make the poor man more upset about his father.
So, that would be when he very carefully slunk out of the bed and grabbed the one small, slightly random for the era mirror with which to spy on the Lacy Catrina one floor below them.

Arthur grunted something in his sleep, and perilously... turned over, spreading one heavily muscled arm out over the spot Merlin used to be occupying.
Below, the Lady Catrina was looking distinctly less... lady-like. She had a few more sticky-out bits, a purple complexion, reddish eyes and an unpleasant odour. Er.
She was also near the window, rubbing poo all over herself. Lovely.
Gaius's Chambers, Sunday MorningcamelotfolkSeptember 5 2010, 08:11:57 UTC
The old physician wasn't best pleased with the whole situation. If anything, he was more jittery and worried than he'd ever been, flicking through books and all.

Gaius busied himself with emptying the last of his tea as soon as he could. "He must," he said. "King Uther and I have a long history. He will listen to me, surely."
Training Grounds, Later Sunday Morningbitch_princeSeptember 5 2010, 08:14:39 UTC
To say that Arthur had not been fond of the Lady Catrina upon arrival would be a gross understatement.
Much like it would be to say that he was roughing up his knights.
In fact, the amount of knights standing upright on the training grounds was swiftly dwindling. "Upright!" Arthur called to the next man, and slid back into battle position.
In the background, Sir Dinadan groaned, and got a poke in the side from Sir Leon for it.

To say that Katchoo was not fond of having to go without smoking her cigarettes (or the numerous awkward questions that would ensue if she did) was also a gross understatement, and tended to put her in a mood that was dangerously close to foul, if not outright cantankerous.
That mood had her wandering away toward sight of the training grounds, and . . . frowning at what she saw. She had to admit it was slightly more productive than her methods of working off a mood (because she couldn't be unconvinced that Arthur was in one), but still . . . ouch.

"You're a disgrace!" Arthur bellowed, when the last knight finally respectfully bowed out. "Clear off, you useless bastards. Be here tomorrow morning, and I dearly hope you'll do better than this hopeless display of incompetence. You are Knights of Camelot, for god's sakes."
"Yes, and my arse is bruised," Dinadan may have been heard to say in passing, as the last knights thankfully took the excuse to scarper.
Arthur looked like he was about ready to start shadowfighting if he had to, but instead he stalked towards the edge of the grounds, fixing his eyes on Katchoo. "Katchoo," he growled, at a low pitch she should be envious of.

"So nice to see someone's more chipper than I am," Katchoo drawled; her fingers were twitching, and the skirts of her dress were rather rumpled in places where she'd been twisting at the fabric in futile attempts to get her mind off the nicotine withdrawal.
Damn him for that low pitch. Don't think she hadn't tried to hit it.
