Some of the help had brought in extra blankets during the night.

That had to be it.

Arthur, barely-waking, decided not to pay it too much attention. He was warm and comfortable, snuggling further into his covers: there was barely any light coming in through the window yet, so he wasn't expected up and in Father's throne room or out with the other ( Read more... )

Sleep was always appreciated if you asked Merlin. Who was under the impression that perhaps Will had stayed the night because it wasn't normally this warm.

This meant it was business as usual. With manly cuddling.

Arthur was slowly becoming aware of the fact that his blanket was moving a little bit. It was warm still, so he struggled with the thought whether or not to figure out what was going on right now.

His eyes slid open. Slowly.

And... Fell on some very, very, very big ears.

...they weren't that big. Yes, they were.

Merlin was oblivious, however, and just frowned, trying to burrow into the blankets a bit more.

... And that was Arthur's nose he just bumped that ear into.

There was an intruder in his bed! Arthur poked him, as per the unwritten rules of princehood.
