If the original crew and passengers had to use them all to get off the ship, then what happened before we all arrived on board? I mean, if they were all in such a hurry to get away, then the ship can't have been all that safe for some reason.

That's the question of the hour, isn't it? Unfortunately, I'm no closer to any answers than I was a few months ago. Awfully irritating, not knowing something that should be as plain as the nose on my face.

But he was right about the escape pods. Level nine used to use the escape pods and when I had a look around, there was evidence of a mass exodus from the ship. Discarded luggage and debris of all sorts littering the ground--even some blood. A massive fight must've broken out amongst the passengers and whatever that unforeseen emergency was, it was enough to terrify everyone.

So what you're basically saying is that we were doomed as soon as we got here? [He grins slightly.]

I was joking a little. I'd kinda like to stay not dead as long as possible.

Take care of yourself, Lyle. [a thought occurs to him] Let me know if you hear of more things disappearing. Big things, small things, anything at all.

Should I keep a list?

If you feel so inclined. It'd certainly help in figuring out a pattern later.
