Maybe they're just waiting and planning their attack. [ Deadpans. ]

Ahhh, but they've had a few days to formulate a plan and put it into action. Every invasion force I've met with in the past has either flown in, guns blazing, or hid away for a few months, covertly plotting their next move. All they've been doing is sitting up there! Pretty lousy attack formation, if you ask me.

You don't even know what they're doing up there, though.

True. [shrugs slightly, but smiles] They could be taking pictures of us and sharing 'em with their mates for all I know!

Ohhhh, I've been told that, yeah...

Why not "Mayday Mayday Mayday"? It's short and to the point.

Because that's clichéd and over-used. Like red alerts! No one uses that any longer.

Some attacks are not necessarily made of lasers or blasting guns, sir.

Ohh, don't I know it... I've been shot at by many, many things in the past, and none of them particularly pleasant either.

It may be one of those many things, sir, not necessarily laser beams.

I'm not so worried. I'm an old hand at negotiations and greetings such as this.

And I'm not sir. You can call me the Doctor, if you would, Miss...?

Exactly! There isn't any fun in doing things if there isn't a hint of danger around the corner.

Think they can hear you?

Ohhh, they probably can. They should. But choosing to simply hear me or really listen to what I've said are two different things.

Think they'll listen?

They should. If not, I'll stay up here all day talking to them until they do.
