From their conversations, Tear reminds Riza a lot of herself. That's a good thing and a bad thing, since there are some things she wishes they didn't have to have in common. She respects her and her attitude on life in general, and it's clear that she has her intentions in the best of places. Tear is a lot softer in places where Riza is not, and she really hopes this will stay that way. It's kind of sad for her to see child soldiers, but it seems to Riza that Tear has learned a lot of hard lessons and managed to come out on the right end of the spectrum.

HAHA oh man where do I start. Ace's really grateful to Riza for all her help like right from the very beginning. JUST. Freeloading off people is a totally him thing to do and he will jump at any chance of it happening but obviously because he's not an ingrate he will do what he can for Riza in return.
He hasn't spent much time around women generally because the only chicks on the Moby Dick are a bunch of sexy nurses who are more interested in his old man, so he doesn't really know if Riza's behavior is one that's typical of most ladies.
also uhhh LIKE EVERYONE ELSE he knows under that stern front of hers he's aware that she's got a kind of aww soft side b/c of how she treats Hayate and again LIKE EVERYONE ELSE probably he thinks that it's really cute she loves that puppy like he's her kid or something.

And because she does love her sister (god knows why), it really does hurt when Belarus says terrible things to Ukraine. She tries to brush it off as Belarus being Belarus, but yeah no. It will always make her cry, even if it's on the inside. She doesn't entirely get why Belarus is so adamant about following Russia to the T, mostly because she can't understand why someone wouldn't want to be more free. She wonders if it's because Belarus never really had the chance to be more independent, but then again, she even followed brother around when they were babbies. SO SHE JUST DOESN'T GET IT but she'll go with it.
Same with the marriage thing. She'd probably be happy for her sister if they ever... did... get... married........ even though it would be the weirdest moment of her life. WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO but she is still sister so she'd be happy for her?? Even though the part of her that loves Russia too is like ( ... )

She's used to impetuous youkai trying to pick fights just to prove their stronger, so he's pretty much just a fly in her ear. Annoying, but easily ignored. Though she's going to be nice to him most of the time anyways.
