Daytime: Read SPN fanfic.

Hey!!! So thrilled to read this from you - oh what treasures await!! Have you reached the end of S1 yet? My favourite episode is the very first one of S2, In My Time of Dying. Just 'Oh Deaaan', and 'Oh Sammmmy' to the nth degree.. you'll love it.

Totally with you on Dean Winchester, btw. Love them as a pair, but it's the character of Dean and the masterful way JA almost underplays him ( really, a single jaw clench can convey so much - wait till you get to Croatoan in S2) and yes, that style of acting does remind me of LC's Bodie at times.

As to the fic, I'm very much a multi-tasker and enjoying reading -and now writing - gen and slash. I did a rec page on my lj recently if you're interested, with quotes.
SPN fic recs and a few other drive-by recs under the tag 'Supernatural fic recs'.

So happy to hear that the SPN bug has bitten as talented a writer as you - you're gonna scribble here, right???

Have you reached the end of S1 yet?

Have now. I watched the last 4 eps last night. They broke them! :0 And I can't get hold of S2 (curse Easter weekend and its restricted shopping hours!) so I'm going to do a rewatch of S1. Which is mostly for the OH's benefit, actually - he started watching about ep 12, and is almost as obsessed as me now! :DD

I'd say the chances are high. I'll lurk for a bit first, though - get the hang of the fandom, make sure the voices are OK. I suspect bad SPN!fic would be a bit like Bill and Ted! Something to be avoided, I'd say.

OMG I have started loving on this show so HARD! Don't worry, I feel about Sam/Dean the same way you do exactly; but the slash level goes through the damn ROOF when Castiel the angel shows up -- no more spoilers here but NNNRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH *pant pant pant*

To be fair, that is my current position, but I'm not fooling myself for a moment - I used to feel exactly the same about Bodie and Doyle back in the day, and look at me now! I'm pretty sure that a few choice well-written PWPs will alter my outlook considerably! But will eagerly await Castiel - I've been avoiding fanfic with that pairing, given that I don't know who Castiel is yet!

Sure. My favourite so far is this one (even though the author really should be on commission from the Santa Cruz tourist board!). But I've barely even started yet.

I admit, I probably could be sold on Sam/Dean with a good enough author, as sibling incest doesn't squick me out horribly. I just don't like stories where it is treated cavalierly, just for the sake of hooking them up though. Anyway Dean/Castiel has superseded all loves. *evil grin*

Check out fandom_wank on journalfen for some up close and personal of the crazy. A large chunk of SPN fans are, to put it kindly, FUCKING NUTS. Obsessive love leading to hate mail to Jared's girlfriend, massive flame wars about RPS, general divisiveness on the whole Wincest issue...we are talking hardcore immature wankers. I'm sure that there are some wank-less SPN comms out there, but honestly, I have not even bothered to look. So I'm sorting out recs from friends mostly, and sometimes crack_van. I do recommend Callisto's stuff, only four stories I think and gen but oh so great. If I find more I'll let you know. <3

Oh, SPN is such a fantastic show!
I'm in love with characters dynamics and relationships. There are so many layers of emotion between all of them.
You have a wild raid ahead, and believe me, you're gonna cry. But it's so worthy!
