Re: the second part: Yeah, sometimes it feels that way. And yet even then, I can't blanket-hate those kinds of commenters because it seems a portion of them might not realize how they come across. Like, I replied to a few "you're missing X" yesterday because I was feeling piqued, and those who replied in turn were perfectly sweet about it.
For example:
COMMENTER: forgot andromeda ascendant as well
ME: Didn't forget - didn't have a chance to include, as this was made in 1 week on deadline with only the sources I could obtain in that time. Hope you enjoyed anyway.
I still remember the night Starships! premiered -- dancing to that vid at Club Vivid for the first time was so joyful.
(And we dance to it at my house every new year's eve now!)
The negative comments are so frustrating. First of all -- no single vid can contain every source in the universe. It's a gorgeous vid. People should enjoy what's there instead of grousing about what isn't. :P Also, if you expanded it now, then jetpackmonkey's b&w remix wouldn't match it as well as it does! ;-)
Also, omg, I cannot begin to imagine 150,000 views of anything I have ever made. You are a rockstar.
Your post reminded me that this vid exists, and now I'm happy all over again.
(Being annoyed by the "Why no X?" comments doesn't sound like an over-inflated ego. That sounds like people poking you in a sore spot that you've explained is sore. If they can take the time to leave a comment, they can take the time to read your vid notes; otherwise they're asking you to listen to them when they aren't bothering to listen to you.)
Just joining in the general "ignore the hatey ppl!" comments. I srsly love that vid to pieces and reblog it on tumblr fairly regularly. i was rewatching Parks and Rec recently and heard the song (playing on Tom's DJRoomba) and had myself a little headcanon explosion that everyone in the office loves the vid (even Ron, who giggles a little at LUDICROUS SPEED). <3
Oh, thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! And thanks for letting me know - I fell asleep last night before the third Club Vivid playlist was posted and didn't know it showed. <3
It was the penultimate song, and completely rocked out the house. I've never seen so many people enthusiastically waving their hands in the air yelling "higher than a motherfucker" :D

Some people are so rude. You give them free art, and all they do is complain. WTF.

Indeed, that is one of the reasons I decided not to do it.
