Finches
I know we've had the Purple/Cassin's/House finch discussion before. Last spring my elderly father-in-law spent a week with us and his favorite thing to do was sit in the backyard and watch the birds. He swore he saw casssin's finches and he's pretty knowledgeable.
Yesterday I had a camera and some finches so I clicked pictures and I wonder what you guys think. Cassin's or House? Local birding expert tells me no Purple Finches have ever been documented in our area so I'm doubtful it's a Purple finch. I live 50 miles south of Yellowstone Nat'l Park.
