Hello everyone,

Its been quite a while since I've posted a meme, so here are two - for your enjoyment - and some other things I've come across and wanted to share!

Found this meme via litlover12

1. One book that changed your life?
I can't say 'changed my life', but I've learned a lot and been very impressed by Arena by Karen Hancock

More bookish questions )

movies, books, meme, history, real life

"Robinson Crusoe" is a good choice. :-)

That trailer looks really interesting!

I'll take a letter!

Yay, I finally got to watch the whole thing and leave a comment!
5. One book that made you cry?
Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkien

This is the first book that I really remember crying over and how much it destroyed me when I finally finished. However, years later, I would end up putting Deathly Hallows in the freezer for a bit while I watched an episode of Coupling...

Do you ever wonder what it would have been like if Jane Austen could have had Elizabeth Gaskell's education?

Okay, I had to wait a few hours for the Thor 2 traffic to slow down on Youtube.

Yeah, I can see what you mean about it being deep and heavy. I'm not sure about seeing it in the theatre but with that cast, I definitely need to see it at some point...love Dominic Cooper and Emily Browning.

Ugh, cad again...

I'm usually much more of a crybaby with movies/tv than with books, but Return of the King really got to me.

I don't know about Jane Austen. I think there's quite a large era difference between Austen and Gaskell, so I can't compare them as to just differences in education.

Ah, what a lovely church! One of the things I really mourn of absence of here in America.

Wow, Summer in February really does look like an S&S 2008 cast reunion! :)

I am very thankful for all the wonderful old churches we have here in The Netherlands and Europe in general. When visiting one of them, it really feels like stepping back in time, if it's not too busy!

BTW, I got your card, thanks so much! It's always a joy to receive a handwritten card and especially coming from the other side of the world!
