I've never heard of The Railway Man. I'm a big fan of Firth so I'm definitely going to watch :)

I've heard The Railway Man was good but it sounds too brutal for me!
I agree with you on The Passing Bells. I had the exact same problem telling apart the two main leads! The end scene did make me cry though...
Thanks for the warning about Mr. Turner! I will avoid that one.

Yes, I do think The Railway Man is not for everyone, though the camera does pan away for the worst of it.
The end of the Passing Bells made me more shake my head a little, because I thought it was bad writing....
