further listyness

And you thought I was done. Hardly. This time, we have a very long list of all the series I'm planning to read. Of course, some of these have been on my radar for so long that I can't really remember what attracted me to them in the first place. So some weeding out might be a good idea. Votes for or against would therefore be much appreciated.

I think the length of the Kingkiller books is one of the reasons I haven't read them yet despite hearing such good things about them. But maybe I'll be ready to tackle them after I get through George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series (more popularly known as Game of Thrones). Only two books to go!!

The Enchanted Forest Chronicles were among the books that my neighbour just gave me when she moved away. I've been meaning to read them for years - I love dragons - so now that I have them, I should just get to it. If you wanted to re-read them, maybe we could read them at the same time?

I heard about the Elizabeth Moon books because our friend trishtrash recently read and reviewed the second series. The only reason I haven't been more on top of that is that I have to order it through interlibrary loan. I'll make it a priority now, though. :)

Obviously, you don't have enough to read and need some more. Teehee. Exactly!! I looked those up on Goodreads and it says that the author doesn't recommend reading them in order of ( ... )

The things about the Kingkiller books verse the Song on Ice and Fire books is that (in my opinion) Martin's book are long books which read like long books. Patrick Rothfuss's books are long books which read like short books. I will say though, that the very beginning of "Name of the Wind" is a bit weak. It takes him about 40 pages to get into it, but please keep reading! What follows is so so fantastic ( ... )

Thanks for the warning about the first 40 pages of The Name of the Wind. I will persevere!

Shall we make November the month of the Enchanted Forest? We could read one book a week for four weeks. If that works for you? I don't know how fast a reader you are.

I think I'm going to start a new rule that I have to finish a series before I can add any new series to my TBR list. Which means that if we read Enchanted Forest in November, I can add Chrestomanci to the list in December. Woot!
